Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups frozen peaches (thawed)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peach filling by mixing thawed peaches with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
  2. Activate yeast in warm water and sugar until frothy. In a stand mixer, combine flour and dry ingredients; add melted butter, milk, egg mixture, and activated yeast. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl and let rise until doubled (60-90 minutes).
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter followed by brown sugar mixture and peach filling over it. Roll up tightly from one long side.
  5. Slice into 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish; let rise again for 30 minutes while preheating oven to 350°F.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown; cool slightly before icing with a mix of powdered sugar, reserved peach filling, milk, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.
